“Here’s a true story… 

An “out of town” company showed up on the press riser on the morning of a major media event in DC, with no assigned riser position. With only a reporter, a videographer, and about 25 feet of coax cable, the shooter needed a connection through the local telecom provider for a live feed set to take place in a few hours. The provider asked for their order or circuit number, but they had neither. The shooter frantically called the telecom company to order the feed but was told they were days too late in the ordering process. With a looming deadline, they resorted to pleading with other broadcasters, asking their affiliate, and tried everything under the sun to get their feed on-air, on-time. Alas, they missed their hit, there was no feed, and the entire trip was a waste of time and resources.
